Deep Purple update: Tickets.

Tickets for Deep Purple are available in Limassol. They are sold in the DVD club called Musical Paradise which is on Griva Digeni street, opposite Petrolina petrol station and Sigma bakery. Tickets are 25 CYP a piece. There is no seat, row or any other position marker on the ticket and all tickets are at the same price. The concert starts at 21:00 on Friday, July 15th 2005. Yes, this coming Friday!

I’ve got mine already. Next question is: How do I find that place in Nicosia (Eleftheria Stadium) where they will be performing? Is it that stadium at the entrance to the city?

Update on Deep Purple’s visit to Cyprus

Firstly, I wanted to let everyone know that I am planning to go to the concert. I’ll be ticket hunting during the coming week. Anyone else wants to go?

Secondly, I noticed a strange thing with Google. My blog comes out as the top first result for the query “deep purple cyprus“. I’ve seconded even the official Deep Purple website. Does anyone know how can I make any money out of it? Just kidding. No, actually, I am serious.

Thirdly, some humor regarding the upcoming concert. I’ve heard a few guys talking the other day:

Someone: Are you planning to go to the concert?

Someone else: I’d go only on one condition – that they won’t play “Smoke on the water”. I’ve heard it way too many times and I don’t want to hear it again.

Someone else else: I must be kidding me. They would be killed and tortured by the crowd in so many different creative ways if they won’t play “Smoke on the water”… I’m sure even they know it and they won’t risk it.

Yet another someone else: I’m sure half of that crowd would pay twice the price of the ticket to just hear “Smoke on the water” a couple of times and nothing else. All they want is to hear it from the original source for once.

That second guy: Oh, well. Tough luck than.

Granma back in town

Granma back in town

Maxim’s grandma (my mother) is back in Cyprus. She arrived today via rather crowded airport of Larnaca and she will stay with us for the next two weeks.

It was interesting to see how both of them (her and Maxim) were rediscovering each other. Maxim didn’t remember her at all. That’s not surprising as he was only about one month old when he saw for the last time. Now he is about four and a half. She didn’t recognize him as well. He has grown and matured and changed a lot.

Lots of emotions and warm feelings are floating around…

First time in Starbucks

I must be in my “try that food spot” mode or something…

Today I woke up rather late for a walk with Maxim, so I was dressing in a hurry and didn’t manage to have breakfast. Since our way to park passes through Starbucks, I thought it would be a good idea to finally try some coffee and eat some sandwich. Starbucks opened a long time ago and I planned to visit it together with Olga, but she got pregnant and than started feeding Maxim, and coffee is bad for babies.

Trying out Burger King

Olga and I were trying to reach Pizza Hut’s delivery line yesterday, but it was constantly busy so we had to make another choice for dinner. We went through a pile of menus, flyers, and coupons in our “order some food” box and stumbled upon a few coupons from Burger King. Burger King has been represented in Cyprus for some time now, but neither Olga nor I tried it for some reason. So we decided to order it.
