The Secret Project coming through

The Secret Project that I working on is coming along nicely. We had some breakthrough activity today. The biggest task that we had so far seems to have been solved. Data importing will take a couple of days and than on we’ll have only exciting stuff to work at.

The original deadline of first beta release still stands at March 1st, 2006. We might get delayed a few days, but no serious show stoppers can be seen from where we are now.

We will select a few people to for the first beta testing – to get really ugly things out of the way. That should take about a month. And than we’ll unleash it onto all of you who want to test the second beta. That should run for a couple of more month. And than we’ll have the production release. That is if everything will go fine (read: as it goes now).

I can’t wait to tell you more, but that is all I can say now. Maybe even slightly more than I should have said.

Doing something wrong

I am really doing something wrong. Seriously. I can’t get neigther one of headsets to work. Headphones work just fine, both at home and at work. Microphones don’t. At work I can hear myself talking in the headphones, but I can’t record any sound and, obviously, I can’t use the headset in Skype. At home, I don’t even get the sound in the headphones.

I think I’m getting old… Oh, do I sound like my father now?

Again with an ‘S’ word

This is yet another post that mentions Skype. As you probably know by now after reading this and that posts, I am really enjoying Skype.

In order to expand the joy, I decided to follow my brother, and buy headphones with microphone to use voice features of this application.

You might think that I am one of those “whatever my brother gets, I’ll get two” types, but I am not. I really have two very separate computers – my home workstation and my office workstation – that I need to equip with whatever software and hardware I use. So, I bought two headsets. Those are A4Tech HS-7 if you are interested.

8 CYP a piece. Fit my head nicely. Micrphone is attached via a wire that you can bend any way you like. There is also volume control and microphone on/off switch right on the wire. Comfy.

I haven’t tested the sound yet.

Happy birthday, Dad!

For a long time now my father tells everyone that he is old. He accepts no arguments against the statement, even though his own parents tell everyone that they are young. I’m not going to argue. I’m just going to use Internet. Everyone knows that Internet is always right, so here is the official statement from the Internet:

My Dad Is Young!

Now, the tricky part is that once it is out there, it’ll always be out there. There is no way to correct this. And if he will try, that’ll just prove more that he’s still young. Beat that!

Happy birthday, Dad! I wish you all the best, as usual. I also want to wish you have some extra strength as you need it so much right now.

Hope to see you this summer…
