Motor Show update

Hazard, Lev, Olga, and I went to Nicosia today to see a Motor Show. It turned out that we just did a blank shot, since the show will start next week. Being early is better than being late, so we don’t mind very much. We managed to have fun and some good time together with food and beer in one Nicosia pubs – now how often does that happen? :)

Anyway, if you are interested, the Motor Show will be held from 17th until 21st of November 2004 (that is from Wednesday until Sunday of next week).

The Last of the Mohicans

I’ve just watched “The Last of the Mohicans” on DVD. It is yet another Michael Mann‘s creation from back than (12 years ago).

The film is nice and magnificant. It goes along the lines of the book. At least as good as I can remember it from reading it last time more than 15 years ago. There is plenty of nice scenery and amazing battle scenes. It reminded me a lot of “The Patriot” at times.

The only thing that spoils this film is the language. British soldiers are speaking American without any accent. Indians are speaking like cops from the 80’s action movies. Every phrase and every word shows that this movie was done in recent times. Even few indian smalltalks don’t save it. They sound very out of time and very false. This is such a pity. Everything else was creating the atmosphere pretty good, and if it wasn’t for the language, I would go straight into that atmosphere and imagine myself back in those times.

Still the film is very good and worthy both your time and money. I’ll rate it as an 8 out of 10.

Pringles

Pringles

Once again a boring day with nothing much happening. That means I am photographing whatever nearest to my hand when I understand that there is nothing interesting for my submission to ‘Picture of the day’ project today. (Now that was most probably one of the longest sentences I have ever written. Or this one). Anyway, the nearest thing to my hand was at this time a can of Pringles. I thought – “Why not? I haven’t yet photographed Pringles. Or, at least, I don’t remember doing so”. And so I did.
