Note to employers, both current and future: if I am looking forward to Friday, then there is something wrong with the work environment. Â And if you ask me what it is, I might not even know the answer. Â But you should ask me anyway.

Huge, huge thanks to git bisect! With its help, I just sorted out a huge argument about who removed a piece of code and when. Â With an actively developed project among few developers and branches, it’s not trivial to say when the change was introduced. Â Unless, of course, you are using git bisect. Â Every developer should know how to use it.
Four nights in Tel Aviv, Israel
As some of you know, last week I spent a few days in Tel Aviv, Israel. Â It wasn’t my typical trip – vacation or technical conference. Â I was there for business. Â And I wasn’t there alone, but with a colleague of mine. Â That trip was the first of a kind for me.
One of the things that was very different is how prepared I was.  Usually, I try to read and learn as much as I can about the place I am about to visit.  I also plan a bit on where I want to go and what I want to see.  But this time, I didn’t know that I’m going until the last minute.  And I didn’t know how much time I’ll have for sightseeing.  And I was busy.  So I read absolutely nothing. Zip. Nada.  And maybe that was for the better – I could see around me with a fresh eye.

Easy Forex, here I come
For the last few month I’ve been consulting Easy Forex on one of their migration projects. Â Recently, when the consulting contract ran out, I’ve been offered a full time position of web developer and team leader. Â I’ve accepted that position and today all the paperwork has been finalized.
I’m looking forward to working with the young and enthusiastic team, and getting my hands into a few more project pies. Â My job is an interesting mixture of things I’ve done before, things that I’ve done before but not to the same extent, and things that I haven’t done before. Â For my career, it’s a rare combination of hard earned confidence with a humbling opportunity to learn. Â Much more often I had either one or the other.
In addition to all the upcoming technical challenges, there is something else that I want to understand and learn – company culture. Â As I’ve mentioned a few times previously, Easy Forex has the friendliest office atmosphere of all the companies that I’ve worked for – and I’ve worked in some really friendly environments, cause I’m picky that way – especially considering the size of the company. Â I want to understand how Easy Forex managed to keep and improve the attitude of a small company, and how one could re-create such culture in other companies.
With that, wish luck and I’ll keep you posted.
