Datagraver has a few charts related to the number of victims of terrorism in Western Europe in the last almost 50 years. Given how much hype terrorism gets and how many changes we see in the day-to-day life related to it, the stats are quite interesting.
This is one of those things that I love about the Internet. When you are wrong, the Internet doesn’t just gently mention it. It absolutely destroys you, shoving the reality so hard down your throat, you forget how to breath for a while. And then, next time, if you haven’t killed yourself yet, you think long and hard before saying anything out loud. If you have a half a brain or more, of course.
Since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, there have been 1,896 terrorist attacks in Russia, excluding the latest two bombings in Volgograd on Sunday 29 and Monday 30 December.
