Maxim is better, but not out of it yet

Maxim looks much better today. The temperature wasn’t there in the morning. It came back in the afternoon, but did climb higher than +38C. Then dropped. Then got back. But overall, he looks healthier and more active.

Because he still has the temperature, I guess we’ll be visiting Dr.Simos again tomorrow. There’s also a side effect from all the syrups we are giving him in a form of a few tiny red dots on his forehead and some more on his tummy.

He still eats good and drinks a lot though…

That’s a virus infection too

Maxim’s temperature didn’t go down, so we went to see Dr.Simos. He checked the kid thoroughly and said that Maxim’s throat is soar. He seems to have some sort of virus infection – nothing serious though.

Maxim was prescribed a couple of sirups that should easy up his throat and help fight the temperature. It is expected that by Wednesday he should be fully OK.

By the way – to those of you who trust only in “natural” ways of healing I have to say “Reconsider!”. I was once again amazed by the wonders of technology and progress today, when a sample was quickly taken from Maxim’s throat and analyzed with a bunch of chemicals, giving a rather precise result within 10 minutes – what was and what wasn’t there and what is the best way to fix it.

Amen to the technology!

P.S.: Oh, and the front upper teeth are coming too. We can almost see them.

Still coming…

Maxim’s temperature is still high, although we can control it a bit. We try to not let it go above +39C. His gum is even more swollen. His moods are still swinging.

We called Dr.Simos and told him the story. He suggested to bring Maxim for a check tomorrow if the temperature will remain high.

We’ll see.

In the meantime, a bath with cooler wather than usual helped in chilling him down a bit.

The third one is coming

Maxim isn’t feeling very well today. His temperature is way above the norm at +39.5C. He doesn’t have any other symptoms – no flu, no running nose, no coughing, no sneazing, his stool is normal. Only the temperature.

After a closer investigation we also saw that his upper gum is bloated. That can mean only one thing – the third tooth is coming!

Maxim’s mood is swinging, he sleeps a lot and looks dull and tired most of the time. He eats properly though and drinks a lot – a good sign.

We’ll be watching him closer for the nex couple of days…

Neurologist say on the MRI scan

We took Maxim to the neurologist (Dr.Rumyana). She checked the results of the MRI scan and confirmed that everything looks OK and there are no pressure points on Maxim’s facial nerve or anywhere near. Good news.

Chances are, she said, that we won’t need any operations. All we have to do is massage his face about three times a day and ask Dr.Simos for some vitamins.

She also noticed that there were some improvements since our last visit to her about three month ago. She said that now Maxim’s eyes are the same – before you could see that one of his eyes was opened wider than the other. Not anymore though. And she also said that his face is getting better.

Olga can’t see the difference. I can, but only when I compare his current pictures to his older pictures. Hopefully, soon the only thing where it will be obvious will be the pictures.

Maxim’s reflexes were checked and we answered a whole lot of questions about his development and growth and Dr.Rumyana confirmed that he is doing very well in all other departments.

Next time we’ll see her some time in May to see if Maxim’s speech will be affected in any way. I hope not.
