The A-Team

A few weeks ago I went to the cinema to watch the movie re-make of the 1983 TV series – “The A-Team“.  I haven’t seen the original, but I’ve heard a lot about it.  As for the new movie – I only saw the trailer, and I was hooked.  It seemed like my kind of action movie.

And it turned out to be even better than I expected.  From the first few moments, the film sets the mood and establishes itself as an entertainment-only flick.  What follows a non-stop waterfall of action and witty humor.  As far as action comedy goes, I think it’s one of the best films in the last few years.  Sure, “Iron Man” had its share of jokes, but “The A-Team” took it way beyond.  Just the scene of the A-Team using the tank to fight while falling down from the airplane is worth the money for the ticket.  But there is so much more!

Highly recommended for a fun Friday evening.  5 out of 5.

Hangover

I went to see “Hangover” yesterday.  That’s actually one of the films that I was waiting to see.  Firstly, because I am a fan of Todd Philips comedy films (particularly, “Old School” and “Road Trip”, both of which I have probably seen a gadzillion times by now).  Secondly, because the trailer was funny and promising.  And, thirdly, because it’s summer time and I am all for more entertainment.

My expectations were pretty high for this film, and they were all well met.  It was hilarious.  Interestingly, it was funny in a different way then I expected it, but it was very funny non-the-less.  The comedy was evenly distributed across the film, with a bit of build-up effect towards the end.  By which time my belly was hurting and my eyes were wet of laughter.

Highly recommended, with my rating of 5 stars.  Just remember, that this one is not for kids.  Everyone else should watch it.

Yes Man

Yes Man

Yesterday I saw “Yes Man” in the movies.  I remember thinking that it should be a funny but pretty average film back when seeing the trailer.  So I wasn’t expecting much of it.  Due to the lack of options, decided to go see it anyway.

I have to say that I enjoyed it more than average.  It was very kind, positive, and funny.  Of course, it was a little bit sad, as is usual with Jim Carrey movies.  But overall it was pretty good.  Much better than expected.  I don’t know if it was a combination of the film and my own mood, but by now I don’t even care.  I laughed outloud a few times and that rarely has to do with my mood.

Grab it on DVD or see it at the movies – you’ll equally enjoy it.  7 out of 10.
