The Children of Iraq

The Children of Iraq is an amazing collection of journalistic photographs from Iraq that display how “lucky” the kids are out there. Government and military people should be shown pictures like these more often.

If you are afraid blood, broken bodies, and other physically disturbing images, than just go through the first half or so. It gets really ugly after that.

Turtle

Turtle

A couple of days ago I went to the automatic car wash. Waiting inside, I noticed the aquarium with a bunch of turtles. I had time, great subjects, and the camera with me. The only thing missing was the light. I made about 10 shots and only this one came out more or less OK.

The Mirror Project

I came across an interesting photography project – The Mirror Project. Participants photograph their own reflection in the mirror. Sounds simple? Well, it’s not as simple as it might seem. What they do is that they make regular themes, like on any other photography website. For example, there you’ll find your “signs” gallery. All pictures in that gallery will include the reflection of the photographer as well as some sign. Same goes for other galleries.

These people must be really creative, because I can think of about 2 ways only to photograph my reflection in the mirror…

Free Online Photography Course

This photography course is by far the best course I’ve seen on the web. It goes beyond the standard explanations of rule of thirds, and aperture vs. shutter speeds. The course consists of 10 lessons with discussion board attached to all of them for you to read other people’s comments or to ask your question. Great stuff!
