Does anybody actually use a web browser for twitter?
Barry D Fraser it’s not a web browser for twitter … it’s a CSS framework. :)
Too bad there are no good Bootstrap-based WP themes :(
Why would someone use twitter’s bootstrap for a WordPress theme? Its good for prototyping but for a production WordPress theme its too heavy.
What do you mean by “too heavy”? Too large of a CSS file? That can is cached by the browser and served by the CDN. No problem.
Why would you use it for production? Because ‘prototyping’ for production is a Good Thing ™. Fast development, cross-browser compatibility, mobile ready with responsive design, standard compliant, LESS support – what’s NOT to like?
My comment was regarding “support for IE7” – sarcasm does not work well on Facebook :P
Zakhar Kirpichenko WordPress themes are very easy to build, Bootstrap or not. I had junior web devs doing it for after just about a week of learning WordPress and Bootstrap together. If you want a pre-build one, there are quite a few. Just today I came across this one: http://www.rootstheme.com/
Another one nice starter theme http://underscores.me/
Barry D Fraser I’m still waiting for my coffee to kick in … sorry :)
Leonid, I think roots is based on some older Bootstrap, like 2.1 or 2.2. I tried it once and it didn’t work well :(

Zakhar Kirpichenko I see. Well, then, here is my really old blog about WordPress blog that covers theme building from scratch too: http://wpbits.wordpress.com/
Especially:
http://wpbits.wordpress.com/20.....ic-basics/
http://wpbits.wordpress.com/20.....-the-loop/
http://wpbits.wordpress.com/20.....hierarchy/
Even though it’s from 2007, most of it still works pretty good. :)
I wish I had the time to look into theme building ;) Thanks anyway, perhaps one day I will, hehe
