Paramali Beach

Paramali Beach

Today we went to Paramli Beach. There are few beaches at Paramali actually. The one we tried today had the most sand.
If you go to the place where kiters are, look to the left (while faced to the sea) and you will see a hill. Behind that hill is an excellent beach. You will know you are in the right place, when your road will be blocked by a horizontal bar. There will plenty of signs about turtle nestings, swimming areas and the like.

I’ve made few pictures, which you can find here.

Les Douze travaux d’Astérix

We have seen an excellent French animation – “Les Douze travaux d’Astérix” (“The Twelve Tasks of Asterix”). It’s a geniously drawen action from as far back as 1976. But being old has nothing to do with it, since it covers a range of modern subjects like TV advertising and car parking problems.

Unfortunately for many of us, the only comprehensible way you can see this is in English or Russian translation. But even being translated cannot hide the fact that it is one of the greatest animations ever created.

Strongly recommended for watching with or without kids and having this DVD in the home collection.

Arlington Road

Arlington Road

As a premier of Hazard’s new TV-set (34″ Tompson or something) we’ve watched “Arlington Road” today on DVD.

There is not surprise this movie wasn’t broadly advertised. It presents a fresh (in American terms) look on terrorism and history of United States. It also doesn’t have a happy ending. But it has a bunch of stars in it, like Jeff Bridges (Dr. Mark Powell in “K-PAX“) and Tim Robbins (Nick Beam aka the white guy in “Nothing to Lose“).

The film is a bit slow and full of drama, but has an nice ending. I’ll recommend it to anyone who ever thought about the terrorism and USA together, but doesn’t have a Bush washed brain.

Sociology of the Mobile Phone

Sociology of the Mobile Phone” is an excellent collection of links to works that are related to social issues of mobile telephony. How mobiles affect our life and work, our families; how entertainment and news industries change; what’s new on the front of gossipping after introduction of the mobile telecommunications; etc.

All of these makes for an interesting flip through reading when there is nothing better to do.
