First Post!

This is the first blog entry after I’ve installed Nucleus. I am enjoying it mostly so far. Few things are not yet to my liking, but I am working on it. :)

As you might have already noticed, I’ve imported all my previous blog entries starting from October 2001(!!!). Due to the fact that my formatting was rather simplistic, most entries have posting date as their subject. This will change from now on, but I couldn’t have bothered going through all the old ones and change titles. Just a few that are on the same page.

Another great addition is the ability to add images. You can scroll down for the few I’ve made my tests with.

There are also categories for different blog entries. Currently I don’t have much, but that should also change. Movie reviews will now get thicker and better, I hope. :)

El Gusto and bowling with Hazard’s family

Show me your war face!

Visit to El Gusto with Olga, Hazard and his parents. Very nice meal and, generally, a rather long session. Afterwards we proceeded to bowling. Actually, I haven’t bowl for a few month, but still managed to keep the highest score in both games. :) Good for me. Hazard was also doing very well. He was well above his average and even had a strike or two. :)

During the second game I’ve made a bunch of photos, but most of them, unfortunately, went to the recycle bin. Being slightly drunk I was slow to respond to historgram hints. “Use the fill flash” it was telling me. There was a lot of light directed at the lanes, so being in the spectator area my subjects were all backlit. Whatever. Next time I’ll get them. Practice makes perfect, they say. :)

Russian Embassy

Half a day in Nicosia trying to get into Russian Embassy. It’s trips like this one that remind me why I don’t want to go back to Russia.

Ugly picture. About 30 people are standing in front of a bullet-proof metal door for more then 4 hours under a direct sun (luckily, it’s neither very hot or cold today, like it could be). A couple of kids, a pregnant woman, and a guy with a broken leg. Few foreigners that don’t speak Russian. Some that don’t even speak English. All together. Trying to organize some kind of queue. Once in a while a metal door opens and a couple of people from the queue are allowed to enter. Some other people are called by names. These are lucky ones. Yucks. Setup like this basically forces people to bark at each other. Hatred all over the place. And there is no hope they will change the procedure any time soon.

Beer thoughts

While having few beers out with Vladimir, I had few thoughts that I wanted to right down. Maybe even rethink and repost. But now, when I am home I’ve forgot all of them. There are sudden flashes in my head but they are not even thoughts. And here is the question that puts me to sleep: Does being able to type as fast I can think makes me a fast typer or a slower thinker? :) Good night.
