Epocware special offer for all you SonyEricsson freaks

Epocware – the maker of a bunch of cool software for mobile phones in general and SonyEricsson in particular – announced a special offer for several of its programs. The offer stands until October 30, 2005 and it provides as much as 75% discount. That’s quite a price cut, if you ask me.

Now I wish that I wasn’t that broke…

Excellent SMS notification ringtone

With all the sounds out there I was surprised at how difficult it was to find good ringtone for SMS notification. All of them are either too noisy, or too long, or too disturbing, or too complicated. Finally, I came across one that really suits me well – sound of 50 cent coin (WAV, 300 KBytes).

On mobiles

Talking the phone was always distructing to me. I could never concentrate on two things at the same time very well. This is why I am very against the idea of talking on the phone while driving. Today I was proved once again that mixing mobile conversations with any other activities is a bad thing. All I wanted to do was withdraw some cash from the ATM. While talking. 30 seconds after I approached the machine, it informed me that my card was swollen for good and will not come back today. Only when I hang up, I realized that I was typing in the wrong PIN. Stupid me…

My phone is back

Today I went to CYTA to pay for my mobile. Somehow everything went very quickly. There weren’t too many people in their offices at 7:30 in the morning when I came. All the clerks were still fresh and smiling and very polite. It turned out that I didn’t need any ID or any papers at all. I just came straight to the cashier who asked me for my phone number and told me how much I had to pay. I paid and my mobile was useful immidately. I mean I didn’t even step away from the cashier when I checked it.

It might sound strange for those of you living in technologically advanced countries, but I was pretty much surprised. Government body is using a computer system which works and is integrated as low down as the cashier clerk. Fantastic!

Even middle of nowhere, like Cyprus, can’t avoid progress and global computarization. That’s an excellent thought to start continue your day with.
