More birthdays

The older you get, the more reasons you have to celebrate. A whole bunch of those reasons are birthdays. When the baby is very very young, every day of his life is celebrated. Until he gets up to a week or two old. Than weeks start to count. Slowly, monthes and weeks merge together for more reasons. Than it’s years. Than decades. The quarters of the century. Etc. The funny thing is that you can still keep track of days, weeks, and month – not only the years.

Maxim has finished his 26-th week today.

Sofia Georgiades

On behalf of our family I’d like to congratulate Alex and Katia Georgiades. Today they became the parents of their second daughter – Sofia Georgiades. Sofia was naturally born at 4:30am, weighting 3250 grams.

Olga and I were among those chosen few who were allowed to see the baby on her first day of life. Both of us were deeply touched. We also brought Maxim with us who really looked like a giant near Sofia, despite his almost 5 monthes of age.

I made a few pictures, but I will not release them to the general public for the next 40 days as per request of the young father. :)

Welcome to the world, Maxim Mamchenkov!

Olga and Maxim

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome my first son into this world. He was born today, February 23, 2005, at 12:56. Weighting as much as 3680 grams, he passed all the checks and looks and feels perfectly OK. “All systems are running”. Olga is getting well now after having the Caesarean section (for medical reasons).

Small blog birthday – 6 month

It has been about 6 month now since I have installed NucleusCMS and started some serious blogging. For the last 6 month I haven’t missed a day. Yup, that’s right. I gave you at least one post every single day. Actually, that was a bit more. According to the database, for the last 6 month I have posted about 600 items for you to enjoy. That is roughly 3 per day (600 item / 6 month = 100 per month. 100 items / 30 days =~ 3 per day). Just to give you a number to compare to – I have wrote roughly 400 posts during the 1.5 years before the upgrade.

And it seems that you do enjoy reading all of these, since my web server statistics indicate a constant growth in number of hits, visits, page requests, kilobytes transfered, and each and every other characteristic. Nothing else that I ever did increased the popularity of the site that much. It is also worth mentioning that you wrote more than 150 comments to my posts.

Anyway, happy birthday to the site. Thank you all for coming here. I’ll keep posting. :)
