And with the current rate of change particular in information technology (IT), there is always something new to learn, to try, to talk about. I often post news, thoughts, and reviews. And when I do, this is the category I use.

It’s been a long time pending, but finally, PHP.net updated the design of the website.  The new one doesn’t look anymore that it was done in 1974.  It’s fresh, nice, yet keeps somewhat of the same familiar feeling of the old one.  The search box looks to be updated as well.  I can’t say for sure, since I have a custom search on all my browsers to direct any search query that starts with “php” to php.net.  But it looks like now when you search, the completion will tell you what the dropdown results are – functions, books, etc.

First attempt to upgrade Fedora 18 to Fedora 19 fa…

First attempt to upgrade Fedora 18 to Fedora 19 failed.  Booted from the DVD, which now has a much more useful installer than the previous version.  Yet still couldn’t find the “Upgrade existing installation” option.  It seems that only the new installations are supported, even though the disk partitioning tool found Fedora 18 partition.  Falling back on “fedup –network 19”.

OK, mailing screenshots via MS Word attachments – I am sort of used to it.  Still hate it, but used to it.  But inserting screenshots into MS Excel and emailing that is something out of this world. Seriously. Please stop!
