I’m glad to post this quick update about the shelf with Russian products in Ermes supermarket. I thought they removed the shelf completely, but they just moved it to a really good hiding place. Probably it wasn’t there last time I checked, but it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s back and I can have all tomatos that I want. The new location of the shelf is to the left of the butcher section (if faced away from the meat).
Category: Personal
Despite being at work all the time, and being constantly busy, I am still a human. I am social. I have a life, family, and friends. I have thoughts and experiences. Once in a while I share them, and when I do, I do so in this category. If you don’t know me personally, chances are you’ll find posts in this category particularly boring.
One hand walking
It seems that Maxim’s walking skills are improving. He tried to walk holding with only one hand today. He succeeded, although it got him by surprise. He was very excited. Tried again – few steps again. We tried it few more times just to give him more confidence and seemed to like it.
I guess we are approaching real walking at full speeds.
I am slightly afraid for his health as that will probably give an overflow of joy…
New card reader
Sometimes I feel really stupid. Especially when I realize that I couldn’t properly diagnose the problem. I thought that my microdrive was dying, when in fact it was my card reader. Today I realized the problem in full scope.
Went out and bought myself a new card reader. This time I went for an all in one option. Before I had a need only for CompactFlash compatible media, but now I also have a large Memory Stick Due too.
I got myself a Trust (?) card reader with 16-in-1. Jez! I didn’t even know that there were 16 different card types. My, oh my. Considering that the card reader only has 4 holes to put cards into, I guess all those card types aren’t so different afterall.
11 CYP in ComputerWorld, if you were wondering. Let the file transfers begin!
Some good kidney news
Woken up by the alarm clock at 7:00am. Off to Nicosia at 08:15am. 9:10am we are in Makarious Hospital…
We found the X-Ray department pretty fast, although noone seems to speak English in that place. No queue what-so-ever. Payed 22 CYP. “Please enter”.

Doors aren’t closed anymore
Today marks the new milestone in Maxim’s development – open doors. He had a lot of interest in the subject for some time now, but he never managed to do it completely. He was just knocking on the doors, licking them, banging them, etc. Today, for the first time, he opened the door for the case where my DVD’s are and went to look INSIDE! It’s a good thing that we caught him early in the process.
We are off to investigate door locks…

P.S.: Today’s pictures of Maxim don’t have anything to do with doors, but they are still pretty amuzing.
