Follow-up on KSP4

I know that I said that KSP4 is now over and everything, but there are few minor bits that I forgot to mention.

First of all, I said nothing about photo exsibition that took place at the festival. Yes, that’s right, there was a small photo expo with a few really nice images. Anyone could have shown their work and I didn’t pass that chance. It was my official display of images off the Internet. I had 10 pictures up. You can see all of them here. I linked to all of them before, but this way they are easier to see – all together.

Secondly, lots and lots of people were making pictures and videos of the festival. All of these materials are now getting linked to from this thread at forum.russiancyprus.net (skip to pages 3 and 4 for links).

Kakomalis 2005 – KSP 4

KSP crowd

KSP 4 is now officially over. Today I returned at 6:30 in the morning. It seems that with every KSP I am staying longer and longer. I also brought with me pain in every muscle, hangover, absense of voice because of shouting and singling too much, more than a 100 photos, and tonnes of positive energy.

KSP 4 was a success! More people than ever came to see and participate in the event. I think there was as much as 400 people. Lots of singers and musicians, with the main few who practiced a lot together before the concert. This time the stage was even bigger and music was even louder. There were plenty of photographers and video operators, so I hope they’ll start sharing the coverage soon.

And the main thing is that I started waiting for the next KSP before I even got home…

Upcoming: Rock-Metal Festival in Nicosia

Rock-Metal Festival in Nicosia

There will be a Rock-Metal Festival in Nicosia’s club “Red” on the 2nd of May, 2005. The program will start with hard rock and will end with death metal. The total of four bands will play – X-Element (starts at 21:30), Aeon (starts at 22:15, this is Andrey’s band with the new name), Crest Fallen (starts at 23:20), and Blood Harvest (starts at 00:00). The tickets are cheap – 4 CYP only for more than 3 hours of music.

Andrey Shvachko kindly lets everyone know that his band will perform a couple of their own songs as well as compositions by such grandmasters as Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Deep Purple, Radiohead, Limp Bizkit, Slayer and Aria (classic Russian grandmaster).

I myself won’t be able to make it, since I’ll be resting from major rocking and rolling at KSP, but I seriously encourage everyone else to go. If anyone knows how to find the “Red” club, please post via comments. Otherwise, Andrey will blog it later and I will repost and translate.

Update: Andrey made it all really easy for everyone and uploaded the map. He also provided the description in Russian here. The rough translation:

if you coming from Limassol, enter Nicosia from the highway and go straight until you come to the traffic light with Ermes (ex-Woolworth) supermarket, which is marked with the red dot on the map. Turn a bit to the right, to have the supermarket on your left hand side and go straight until the T-junction. Turn left, and go until the first traffic light, where you should turn right. Pass the round about with the fontain and drive straight to the downtown. Go straight until you see SAKKIS SNACK on of the junctions and small square around the turn. If there will be any parking place on the square, leave your car there, otherwise follow the signs for the municipal parking. Walk to the further left corner of the square, where you’ll the sign RED at the beginning of the street.

Prepare yourself for Kakomalis 2005

There are many names for the same event – Kakomalis 2005, KSP, Amateur Song Festival. Call it whatever name you want, but it still means the same thing. I am talking about a song festival which happens twice a year in Kakomalis, Cyprus. Roughly a 24-hour non-stop music show where everyone and anyone can participate.

The next festival will happen at the same place (map here) on the 1st of May 2005. Most of the information about it is in Russian, so you’ll have to ask for other languages separately. If you read Russian, than check the official website of the event, as well as this discussion at RussianCyprus Forum.

There’ll be all the usual stuff with lots and lots of music, food, games, and sporting activites. New addition this year is the photo exhibition. Once again – anyone can participate.
