I am not a big music fan. My music tastes are far from developed and original. But still once in a while I feel like sharing a tune. This category is mostly used for my rare music moments.
Yes, yes, yes. All those rumors from the last six month were actually true. The fathers of rock music – Deep Purple – are coming to Cyprus. They will be performing at Makarious Stadium in Nicosia on 15th July 2005.
Does anyone have any ideas about the tickets? Where can I buy one and how much will it cost? 80+ CYP seems like a standard entry-level charge, but I need someone to confirm.
Anyway, if you have any additional information about the event, please let me know via comments.

Usually, when I work I need absolute silence. Especially when I write code. Any sound disturbs me. Those which have to do with human voices (phone calls, talks, music) are the most harmful. I never turn the music on or anything else when I program. I also prefer to leave all my development tasks for my night shifts.
But toda I found out that I can actually listen to music while writing code. I was looking for some new radio stations at Shoutcast to add to my music player and stumbled across some Jazz stations. I decided to try one before adding it to the list. I wasn’t yet programming, so it was OK to liste to it for some time.
It was only in the morning, 8 hours later that I noticed that I’ve programmed and did everything I had to do and never switched off the Jazz music. It didn’t disturb me even one bit. In fact I have a suspecion that it actually helped me. I will be repeating the experiment, but until than I’m surprised anyway…
Queen’s “We will rock you” is a short, but well-known song. It is also very recognizable, which is good for advertising. One could use it to advertise web hosting, for examlpe:

There will be several bands performing. Andrey will participate in two of them.
No information about tickets and no map so far. But finding Intercollege is very easy. Here are the instructions: when entering Nicosia from Limassol-Nicosia motorway, go left to the roundabout, than go left again to enter the main road which goes around Nicosia. Drive straight. You’ll pass Orphanides supermarket on the left, Metro supermarket on the left, Jumbo supermarket on the right. Keep going straight until you reach the T-junction. There will be a huge church on your right. Turn right and drive straight until you see Intercollege buildings on your right (about 5 kilometers later).

Andrey Shvachko becomes a continuous source of musical events in Nicosia. This time he informs that there will be a live music evening in Getonia ton Osmaton club. There will be two bands. The first one is Jazzmania, from the Nothern Republic of Cyprus. Probably they’ll play jazz, but you can never know for sure. The second band is called OS (and yes, Andrey is a prt of it too). It will play western coast rock-n-roll with hits from such famous bands as Grateful Dead, Chris Rea, Brian Adams, Beatles, and Whitesnake.
The evening program will start at 20:30 and the entrance fee is 5 CYP. The ticket includes food and drinks.
Getonia ton Osmaton is in Aglandjia part of Nicosia, not far from Filoxenia hotel. Andrey will probably provide the detailed map, with instructions on how to find it, a bit later. I’ll post it here if and when he will do so.
