Big day at work – I’ve finally released the new version of Intranet (Webcentral). This time it was completely rewritten in perl (originally in PHP). Lots of bug fixes, new features and design improvements. Nice! :)

Movie in the evening with Olga and Hazard. This time we went to see the “Phone Booth“. Olga and Hazard both didn’t like it much because of the trivial ending. I, on the other hand, enjoyed all the way. The plot was exactly as I expected it to be – no surprise there. But acting was very nice and the shooting of the whole damn thing from the point of view of the single phone booth was rather nice. Anyway, I liked the movie a lot, they didn’t, but I can write about it here and they can not. :)

Sophie’s ice cream afterwards. Then some beer and a discussion about high school times, marasm, Cosmopolitan and Playboy, and some other mostly random staff. :)

Off to the movies to see “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life“. It was as good as I expected it to be. Some bits were looking rather stupid and totally unprofessional (like the titles, shark, Pandora Box reflection in Croft’s eyes, etc), but some were rather nice and splendid (falling stones of the island, golden ball with Africa movie in it, etc). Overall it was in the same atmosphere as the first movie. If you like d that, then go see this one too. :)

In the other news: the new project of Hazard and myself about Cyprus has been released to the public today. I’ll let it stay there in test mode for a couple of days and then I’ll publish the URL everywhere I can. So, if you can guess the domain, then you are welcome. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait for the official announcement. :)

Since I was in the NOC tonight, holidays are officially open for me.

Watched “The Graduate” (with Dustin Hoffman). Nice movie. Sometimes sad, sometimes funny. But overall – a recommended watch.

In the afternoon, I’ve met with Lev for a pint and some beer shopping. Not much action anyway. In the evening though, Hazard came, we picked up Lev and went to Bavarian which is a German delikatessen shop with few tables to serve those delicatesses and beer. Service was awful though. But food and beer were very nice. We had an excellent time with Hazard being a guest star comic. :) Then we picked up Olga and went to Hazard’s place to watch a movie. “Fargo” this time. Supposedely a good movie. Everyone liked it. I liked the first 1/3 or even 1/4, but then could help myself off falling asleep. Now, I don’t mind when it happens while watching something boring, but when there is a good film screening – that’s becoming a problem. Maybe I need more sleep. :)

It’s 8th day of 8th month today. Whatever. Since I was on the night shift during the night, the rest of the day was all mine. So, I’ve watched “Dungeons & Dragons” in the morning. Actually I could stand only like 2/3 of it – then felt asleep. Very boring movie. And something is totally missing, but I couldn’t get what it was – good acting, nice plot, or background music. Defenetely – not recommended.
