You might have thought that I didn’t made any pictures in the last few days, but it is not so. It’s just that I have been busy with other things away from computer to do some postprocessing. I’ve finished with the pictures now and backposted them to appropriate days for the historical reasons. In case you want to check those posts out they are here, here and here.

Monitoring earthquakes
I am crossposting this from Hazard’s stuff…
There are many organizations out there that monitor seismic activity and share their data in real time. One of them is European-Mediterranean Seismological Center. Another – U.S. Geological Survey.
Few minutes ago there was an earthquake of a 6.1 magnitude here. I felt it since I am on the 5th floor, in the NOC. Hazard felt it since he is living on the 4th floor. EMSC data is here. USGS data is here. Also, it is interesting to see that there were few small earthquakes in the area (Greece and islands, Turkey).
Wet Limassol
Things look very interesting today morning. It was raining heavily over night, so everything is wet and freshly washed. The sky is cloudy, but clouds are not too thick to stop the daylight. Everything that hasn’t been painted recently looks very dissaturated. Everything else looks oversaturated. I have tried to show this contrast on few images, but I don’t think I have succeded.

The Alamo
Wathed “The Alamo” on DVD.
It is an OK-kind of film on dramatic historical issues. It displays a story of Alamo town during the times of American-Mexican military conflicts. I wasn’t aware of the historical background for this film, and I am still not too interested in it after watching a film.
There wasn’t much of a story to act upon, so there wasn’t that much of great acting. Billy Bob Thornton (recently seen in “Bad Santa“) and Patrick Wilson (recently seen in “Angels in America“) are the only two people I have recongnized from the cast.
Battle scenes were pretty good. Again, though, I am not qualified to comment on historical accuracy of items and wear displayed, but it all looked appropriate to me.
If I were to make this film better, I would add something to the story line (like a drama or more character development) and made the film slightly faster. 6 out of 10.
TorrentSpy.com – Torrent search engine
Torrent is one of the best peer-to-peer protocols. It is distributed, fast, and open. One of the things that are missing or, rather, underdeveloped is search. Searching is difficult due to the decentralised nature of the protocol. TorrentSpy.com helps to cure the problem by indexing many large Torrent collections.
Update (February 5th, 2016) : TorrentSpy.com has been shut down by the US court, apparently.
