Tip for Mozilla Firefox and the middle button

While Firefox suits me pretty good, it has a couple of issues that annoy a great deal out of me. The first one doesn’t happen all that often, but when it does, it annoys the big Jz out of me. The click with the middle mouse button anywhere on the page, except for the link. Usually, I use the middle button to open the link in a new tab. But if I miss the link, then Firefox uses whatever text was in the buffer as a new link for the current tab. I really hate that one, you know.

Today I accidentally discovered a fix. Simple, as usual. Navigate your browser to about:config and make sure that middlemouse.contentLoadURL is set to false. Tada! All done.

10 month

Maxim is 10 month old. He learns to walk and to talk. Something tells me that he can start doing both of these simultanously (along the lines of “Holy Crap! Look ma, I’m walkin’ over here!”). He is still puzzled with the Christmas Tree, but he slowly gets used to it.

Instead of a proper present, he got a pair of new boots. Size 20. Infant 20 that is. He’ll probably enjoy them a great deal as they are both comfortable and taste good.

Happy birthday, Max!

Russian climbing – MUST SEE!

One of the things that I’ve been saying for as long as I can remember is that it is always interesting and exciting to watch a person do something he is good at. And your interest in the subject is irrelevant – it’s all about how that person does it and that only. And ‘it’ can be anything. OK, maybe with few small exceptions, but those don’t count.

Another thought that I support, but always try to avoid is that in order to be good at something, all you need is strong will and a lot of effort. Equipment, financial injections, and stuff like that can only slow you down.

In support of these two ideas, I offer you the link to a video – Russian climbing.

It is a pretty long download and will last for only 8 minutes, but YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO SEE THIS! Actually, you might have seen something similar in Jackie Chan movies, but who believes the cinema these days? Jackie Chan is doing what he is doing for the movies and he uses a lot of trained professionals and equipment to achieve the effect.

In this clip though, you’ll see guys doing some really amazing things without any equipment what-so-ever. Really, really cool stuff!
