Just watched “Primal Fear” on DVD. This is one fine movie. There were too many familiar faces in the movie. Too much even. Richard Gere was a good lawer, though I don’t like him very much. Edward Norton was also very impressive, considering the fact that this was his first movie. I bet that this film was the decisive one when choosing a character for “Fight Club“. He’s got the split personality desease in both of them, and he is brilliant in both of them. Good bet. :)
Month: April 2004
Happy birthday to myself!
Heh. This year I haven’t been waiting for my birthday too much, but it came anyway. Does that mean that I get old? I don’t think so. I was just busy.
Anyway, here I am and I am 26 now. I’m just over a quarter of a century old. Sounds a lot but it actually isn’t. My 27th year will be dedicated to my newly acquired interest – photography. :) I’ll see where it’ll lead me.
Update: I felt like half a planet was congratulating me today. I’ve got the biggest number of phone calls and SMS messages of all the times that I ever remember. Few people even showed up at my place to have a drink or two for me. Thank you all. I am really impressed and touched. :)
21 Grams
Watched “21 Grams” on DVD. A really nice, dramatic movie. It has something unamerican about it. I just cannot put my finger on it. Maybe the feeling is from skies shot in somewhat Japanese way. Or maybe it is due to some accordion music. Or maybe it is from something else.
Tricky situation of the characters in the movie does also make you think about things like organ donations, crime, family and children, traffic accidents, religion… Benicio Del Toro (aka Franky Four Fingers) plays an excellent role of an ex-con guy. He does a real good job touching on the subjects of religion, belief and faith.
Overall, a great movie to see if you have some free time and don’t feel the need for any humour. Dramatic. Very.
Backup software
Being a system administrator part of my job deals with backing up and restoring things. In order to find the best tool for the job, I’ve played with a number of solutions. Here is a list of programs that I remember together with some pros and cons for each one.
Add-ons for my Digital Rebel
I’ve placed an order for few add-ons for my Digital Rebel. Things that I wanted the most are:
- Canon 75-300/4-5.6 EF IS USM zoom lens with lens hood (ET-64II).
- Canon 58mm circular polarizer PL-C.
- Canon EW60C lens hood for Rebel’s standard 18-55mm lens.
I’ve ordered through Digital Photo Discount Club, which is known to work. Total price together with the delivery is around $670 USD. If I would have to buy the same in Cyprus it would probably cost me 2-3 times more. The lens alone costs here about $1500 USD.
Big thanks go to Hazard who helped as usual. The biggest question now is will it arrive before the Cyprus stage of World Rally Championship which will be held during 14-16 of May. Hope lives forever! :)
