Motherhood

Motherhood

Today’s submission to ‘Picture of the day’ is a family photosession. Maxim is still my primary subject for photography practicing, but I try not to concentrate on him too much. Also, Olga feels good enough to make a few shots of father and son (me and Maxim). I’ve played with the pictures in Gimp a bit, just to keep up my skills. Nothing fancy though…

Picture of the day

What are YOU looking at?

I am a bit under time pressure these days, but I think you’ll forgive me if I will put a bunch of pictures from the recent days into a single submission for the ‘Picture of the day’ project. As you might have guessed, most of these pictures have to deal with Olga and Maxim. Some of these were taken few days ago in the clinic. Others – were taken today in my home. Enjoy!

Mother and son

Mother and son

My next few ‘Picture of the day’ will probably be very boring. Children in general, and my son Maxim in particular are new subjects for me and I don’t yet know how to handle them. Practice is the best medicine for all photography problems as far as I am concerned, so I will be photographing a lot of kids. Training the photo eye, ai!

Molos promenade

Pay here

Today Olga and I went for yet another walk. This time we went to Molos park. Again, I took a few pictures. And again I noticed the improvements since last year, when I last photographed the area. The pictures are better and opportunities are better. My eyes are more trained now and I see more subjects. Still, I have to work on myself. Pictures that some of my favourite photographers bring home from park walks are way better than my.

Seaside

Seaside

Olga and I went for a walk today. We spent some time on the seaside and than went to Chesters Bar for a quick snack. I have made a bunch of pictures on the way. I photographed everything I saw – people, sea, seagulls, yachts, signs, beer, etc.

While processing the pictures I realized that I am getting better and better. It is difficult to notice this progress on a day to day basis. But when I compare pictures of the same places and subjects which were made few months apart, I can really see the changes. Also, I am throwing away less and less pictures. Overall, I am very pleased with myself today.
