This website is very old. It’s been with me for many years. There are plenty of articles which are useful both for myself and the rest of the world. Bit by bit, word by word, link by link, image by image, this site was filled and filled over the years. Technologies changed. Some new techniques and concepts came up. Some old ones faded away. Spending as much time as I possible can (after everything else) on this site, sometimes I manage to introduce big changes – like a new bit of functionality or a totally different look. Not to confuse and scare everyone, I try to be open about the changes that were made. When something big is changed I post a description of what it was and why I felt the change was needed. These updates are published in this category.
And yet another downtime occurred today. Reason: power failure in the region. This is getting really interesting. Never ever did we have any problems with electricity. I don’t even have an UPS. Slowly, I am rethinking my position. The question is if that will help. Today, the power was cut for almost 3 hours (roughly from 12:00 until 15:00).
Once again there was a huge downtime (about 8 hours) today. I haven’t noticed the disconnection because of my busy schedule for today. The reason was simple though – power plug was disconnected by mother while cleaning up. :)
In order to prevent such longlasting problems in the future, I will setup some external monitoring today that will SMS me immidiately.
Today there was a somewhat long downtime (about 7 hours) due to a power failure in the region. Power was cut off for about 3 hours, but because it happened in the middle of the night and there is nothing much to do without light, TV or Internet at this time, I slept for another 4 hours. All the lights were out – UPS or no UPS. It is the first time that I remember that power was cut for such a long period of time without any warning from the authorities. Maybe there will be something in the news.
It’s been a while since I installed Google AdSense. Meanwhile I am getting closer to my first check. I have passed the $85 USD mark on the way to the $100 USD. I guess I should receive some money within the next couple of month.
