I love photography. For me, it’s like painting, but better. And more accurate. And unlike painting, I can actually participate. I am not a big success or great master by any means. But I enjoy taking pictures. I also enjoy looking at other people work and sometimes sharing it. When I do, this is the category that I use.

100 Greatest Sports Photos of All Time
Sports Illustrated published their collection of 100 greatest sports photos of all time. These mostly cover American sports, and not each one is as appealing to non-American viewers, but it’s definitely worth a watch. There are some really good ones.
Dakar Rally 2013
Big Picture covers Dakar Rally 2013. Each of those fascinating images is precious. But they also work quite well together, telling the story of happiness and sadness, toughness, courage, technological advances, and most of all, good sportsmanship.
National Geographic competition and birthday
BigPicture blog runs not one, but two posts on National Geographic. One is for their Photography Contest winners – and there are some trully amazing pictures, like the one of this bear. And the other one is covering the upcoming 125th birthday of National Geographic.
