Slashdot has an update on Doom 3. This time they report that Doom 3 website is operational. There are a few screenshots, a trailer, wallpapers, and a pre-order form.
Category: Games
I enjoy playing video games. I used to play PC games since early 1990’s. I played anything from real-time strategies like WarCraft, StarCraft, Age of Empires, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, etc; to first-person shooters like Half Life and Quake III.
In the recent years though I have completely moved to consoles. My favorite gaming device is Sony PlayStation 3. Now I play mostly first-person shooters (Kill Zone, Call of Duty series, and the like), driving simulations (Colin McRae’s Dirt), adventure quests (Assassin’s Creed and Uncharted), and sports (NHL09 ice hockey).
I don’t write much about games, but when I do, I publish my posts in this category.
Doom 3 news
I’ve been very busy at work for the last few days and somehow managed to miss Doom 3 announcements all over the web. If you did too – here is a round-up…
Id Software actually finished Doom 3 and sent it to the print. It will be available around the world starting from 5th of August this year (less then 3 weeks left). Slashdot story on the announcement is here.
There also an updated story here, which links to the blog entry of Todd Hollenshead of Id fame.
Doom people should run as fast they can into hardware shops to upgrade their PCs. I myself will wait for Quake IV. :)

Setting up Quake III (OSP)
I’ve ran a poll some time ago at Gamers.CY which showed that are people who have troubles configuring Quake III for network play. That poll pushed me into writing down these few simple steps that will hopefully increase the number of peole enjoying the deathmatch fun.

Quaking
Some excellent Quake 3 news! :) First of all, there were few very nice games tonight. We started off with Capture The Flag (3v3), then continued with some duels (I played 3), and then went on with an excellent TDM game (2v2). r2k clan should an impressive aim, but total lack of timing pushed them few frags back. :) Lots of fun! By the way, one of the duel’s demo is uploaded to Quake/demos. Check it out.
Also, the idea of having a Q3 duel competition haven’t died out yet. There are about 10 people registered and supposedly the day will be the 1st of November. We’ll see if it will live up to that. All news are as usual at Gamers-Cy. :)
