Marriage uptime: 3 years

Today is our anniversary. It is three years since Olga and I got married. It is also the first year that we have something (or actually, somebody) to show for what we have been doing being married.

An analogy is floating around my head for the last couple of days – until now our marriage was like a beautiful car. The view is enjoyable but nothing is produced. From this year though, we proved that this car actually be driven. I am not quite sure yet that this is very accurate, but I decided to post it anyway. Before I forget.

So, I congratulate my beloved wife and myself with this achievement and wish us both more years to live together. I’m really enjoying it, you know.

Drumming

It seems that we are breeding a drummer. For the last couple of days Maxim is drumming with his legs on everything he can touch. We put him in his cradle, he find the edges and drums. We hold him vertically, he finds the surface and drums. He does it rather strengthfully and for extended periods of time. For example, when I took him for a walk today, he was drumming with his legs for almost three and a half hours! Minus the thirty minutes that he slept.

I guess he is not hurting himself much, because he seems rather happy while doing it. He even smiles occasionally. Maybe he is training his leg muscles for walking times that will hopefully arive soon.

Trying out Sim

During the last few days I’ve been trying out Sim. Sim is yet another open source Instant Messaging (IM) client that supports a variety of protocols (ICQ, Jabber, AIM, and MSN). I am currently interested only in ICQ though.

Before Sim I’ve been using Licq for a long time and centericq before that.

I switched from centericq to Licq because I wanted to have annoying notifications on new messages while in graphical mode. Otherwise I was constantly forgetting that centericq was running in one my konsoles and it stayed there abandoned for weeks.

Licq is almost perfect for my needs. And I wasn’t looking forward to jumping of off it. It’s just that a few people suggested that Sim is a better client in general, and that is solves a few of those issues that I have with Licq.
