This rolling thing isn’t tough at all

It’s been only a couple of days since Maxim managed to roll from back to front on his own for the first time. Today he did it several times with no problems at all. It looked like a routine and took him on average less than a second to perform. How can that be? I mean, two days ago he is trying to do something so physically challanging that he sweats all over, becomes red, breathes heavily and looks totally exhausted after he turns around; and mere two days later this task is not any harder as, say, sucking his finger.

I am amazed shocked!

Tree in the park

Call me retarded, but only today I found out how to do exposure compensation with my camera. Basically, set it in either Av or Tv mode, take a measurement, than switch to manual (M), use the exposure measurement acquired and modify it slightly. There’s a small indicator on the exposure scale which shows how much is compensated.

Building arrow

Building arrow

This is one of a few office buildings that I pass every time walking with Maxim. For some reason only this building touches my feelings. It seems so solid and straight that I feel the urge to distort it somehow. I was trying to convince myself that this building is no different than any other, that all of them have straight lines, squares, angles. But I couldn’t. So, today I decided photograph it using a wide angle lens that would provide enough distortion for me to feel satisfied. When I saw the picture at home, I was surprised to see that the distorted building looks like an arrow.

America vs. Europe

Here is a quote from the trivia page for the “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels“:

The scene where Steve Martin is posing with the bikini-clad women on the beach was shot twice. For the American release, the women all had their bikini tops on. For the European release, director Frank Oz filmed the same scene with the women topless. Oz states in the DVD commentary that when he commanded the women to remove their tops, he felt like the most powerful man in the world.

Now let us hear all that crap about the free country once again…

P.S.: The DVD that I just watched had the American version of the film. Unfortunately.
