There were plenty of movies today on TV, but I decided for some reason to watch this really bad copy of “Hostage“.

While walking around the airport today, I noticed an interesting similarity between policemen and babies. Policemen have whistle. Whistles are usually hanging on a small piece of rope around the neck. Policemen blows the whistle and than spits it out. Babies have soothers. Soothers are usually attached to a small piece of rope that can be easily clipped to baby’s clothes. When babies get bored with soothers they spit them out. Soothers than hang very much like policemen’ whistles.
That made me smile at policemen…
My mother-in-law left Cyprus today. She stayed with us for one month, helping with Maxim and enjoying Limassol and the sea. Due to some circumstances I doubt that she’ll be coming back soon, which is very unfortunate. On the other hand though, Maxim, Olga, and I we’ll probably visit her in Russia some time next year.
For a long time now Maxim was trying to suck his fingers. He never succeded because his hands are always closing into fists, with thumb going inside. Today though situation changed. Maxim managed to disassemble the fist with his mouse and suck onto the index finger. First time that I saw it, I thought that he was just lucky. But he proved to me that he actually developed a technique for doing so. Locating the thumb is a matter of time from now on…
Vladimir and I went for some real rally today. We decided to watch Special Stage 4, Lagoudera – Spilia. We went for an adventurous trip to the Start of the stage. Instructions on how to find it were given from the Nicosia side, so we had to do some guessing. Luckily, we didn’t have any troubles finding the way.
Lagoudera – Spilia is one of the hardest stages of Cyprus Rally. It is the hardest one of the Leg 1 (first day). We chose to see it from the start, because it was promised that cars will pass through a number of narrow turns on the rocky grounds. And it was indeed so. Plus the usual dust.
Vladimir did the video coverage, while I tried to photodocument everything we saw. I’ve selected about 80 pictures that should give you the idea of the event.
