It has been a while since I watched a movie that I didn’t pick myself. Today I did. “Without a Paddle” is a nice comedy and was sure worth the while.
IMDB rating: 5.4
My rating: 6.5
Celebrity highlights: Seth Green, Matthew Lillard and a new addition to the gang – Dax Shepard – are playing the main three parts.
“Without a Paddle” is one of those comedy movies which are based on as simple as possible story. The primary goal is deal out a number of jokes. Many of the jokes are well-known (like the one about outrunning the bear), others are not, yet others appeared while shooting the movie. There are many films like that but not even half of them are successful. This one is. It has a high and more importantly constant flow of jokes per minute. It is also fastly paced and has a number of comic characters in it.
Additionally, there were some nice cameraworks and music, both of which helped to get closer to the action in the film.
Overall it provided for a nice light entertainment, which is all it was made to do. Good try.
