Today I decided that enough time has passed since I’ve watched both “Kill Bill: Vol.1” and “Kill Bill: Vol.2“, so I rented both DVDs. I did that for three reasons.
Firstly, I started to miss them a lot and it was about time I watched them. So I did.
Secondly, I wanted to make up my mind if these two are a single movie cut into two pieces of these two are two separate movies. It is kind of difficult to judge on this when about 6 month pass between watching two parts. So I watched both of them in a single day and … I still cannot make my mind. I am closer to the opinion of two separate movies though. They have been shot differently, they have been paced differently, and they different content. First movie is all about setting up the story and providing lots of bloody fights, while the second one is about character development and a small bit of drama and philosophy. Parts are very well connected though.
Thirdly, I was interested in bonus materials. My appetites were satisfied. First disk contained “The Making of ‘Kill Bill’“, while the second had “The Making of ‘Kill Bill: Volume 2’“. Both provided a bunch of interviews with Quentin Tarantino, Uma Thurman, and few other members of the crew.
Great experience.
