Skinema

What do you think happens when a dermatologist is crazy about movies? Well, many things can happen, but the one I am talking about is Skinema. On that website, a movie-crazy doctor presents numerous skin anomalies found on famous actors. There are plenty of them. And, for once, they don’t look as ugly as on the majority of medical websites.

If you think that celebrities have perfect skin, or if you think that you have some skin desease that noone else has, visit the site. I am pretty sure it will change your mind. Or at least you will learn so much more about famous faces you see in the cinema.

Haagen Daz saga

Interesting episode that took place today. Olga wanted to have some Haagen Daz ice cream while watching TV. She prefers Belgian Chocolate or Chocolate Chocoloate Chips flavour. Haagen Daz is something they don’t sell in every kiosk down the street. And it was pretty late too.

The only place I knew they sell this ice cream was Pizza Hut. So Hazard and I went to the nearest Pizza Hut. Unfortunately they were out of Belgian Chocolate and Chocolate Chocolate Chips flavour was not on the menu. I baught a couple of small Vanilla and Cream and Cookies portions and we went back home. It turned out that Olga doesn’t like those. So we went for another quest.

There are two Pizza Hut restaurants in Pafos, so Hazard, Lev, and I went to locate the second one. After some traffic jam sitting time we successfully did so. And now for the essense of the story…

…imagine three adult guys walking into a restaurant and ordering one small Haagen Daz ice cream for take away! What could be more funny, is three guys ordering a small Haagen Daz ice cream with a table and three teaspoons. :) :) :)

Fortunately, Pizza Hut personnel doesn’t pay much attention to weird combinations in orders and just does the job, so noone noticed (or noone showed that they noticed) the flick. Anyway, this was pretty funny while it was happening and I am writing it down since I am pretty sure it will be funny to read through and remember later.

The Sixth Sense

For some reason, television channels are broadcasting lots of nice movies lately. Today they were showing “The Sixth Sense“, which, of course, I’ve seen few times before.

It is a nice, though a bit scary, drama with Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment, which you must see just because it is a source of so many parodies (Scary Movies, “I see fragged people” t-shirt, etc). You’ll enjoy it too.

The story is interesting and original. Bruce Willis is as good as ever. Haley is good, but a bit overdone, like many other kids.

8 out of 10 is well deserved.

Photoblogging

Book reading

Photoblogging is yet another way to introduce a lot of data flow to the web. As regular text blogging requires minimum language skills, photoblogging requires a camera and basic photography skills. Talant is nice to have, but way too few people actually do. I don’t think that my photography skills are up to the level to maintain a photo blog, but a text editor I can handle.

Meanwhile, I do enjoy ocassional photoblogs, like this one.

Don’t touch

It seems that some people are getting really paranoid. Especially Americans. Apparently, they have came up with a special jacket for women that will use electroshock against anyone who touches it on the outside. It has to be activated and stuff, but still rather scary. Imagine, you see the woman dropping something and you are like “Excuse me, hey lady, listen, eh, you dropped this ***BZZZT***”. Sure I do understand the position this was seen from, but don’t you think it’s just a little bit overreacting? There are lots of situations when you do intentionally or not touch a strange person. Especially that happens a lot in the bigger cities where they have crowds, public transportation and stuff.

There are a couple of QuickTime demonstration videos on the site, in case you’re wondering…
