Naming a TV show

Posted in All on August 25th, 2006 · No Comments

Maxim, Olga and I were in the living room. The TV was on, though no one was paying any attention to it. Until the ‘coming soon’ section. And there was this ad of a new TV show in Greek, which can be roughly translated as “504 kilometers north of Athens”. I thought it was a long title. Olga did too.

Olga: Why would someone name a TV show “504 kilometers north of Athens”?
Me: Because Thessaloniki is a really long word that doesn’t fit on the screen, unless you use a really small font that no one can read.

Either I am reading too much of Scott Adams, or I think that I am funnier than I am.
