knoda – KDE’s front-end to databases

knoda is one of those cool looking and functionally promising projects. If you are still looking for graphical interface for database management, then try it out.

Its driver concept allows a uniform connection to different database servers (Dbase/Xbase, MS Access/Mdbtools, Mysql , Postgresql , SQLite or ODBC).

Did you notice that MS Access was mentioned? Well, here is a little more for you to know:

New test version knoda 0.7.4-test1 released. With its latest release knoda introduces a driver for MS Access databases (mdb files). Knoda is the first KDE based database frontend reading MS Access databases natively and so it is getting closer to its goal to be a full replacement for MS Access. The driver is based on Mdbtools.

Installed del.icio.us Smart Tagging Plugin for WordPress

I’ve installed del.icio.us Smart Tagging Plugin for WordPress. Here is a brief explanation of what it does by the author:

As you may have noticed, there are lots of little checkered images in my blog now. These are links to my del.icio.us tags. I decided it would be interesting if my blog was smart tagged so people who read entries on this blog could visit my del.icio.us links on the subject to learn more about what I am discussing.

Installation of this plugin should stimulate me into supporting my del.icio.us bookmarks – adding new ones and tagging old ones properly.

For this reason I am writing up this post with links to stuff that I liked. Hopefully it will also be useful to other people trying out WordPress.

KDE pager progress

KDE pager is one of the biggest annoyances for people coming to KDE from AfterStep world. But the good news are here:

the pager has gained drag and drop, so you can move windows between desktops using it. in fact, you can drag from the taskbar to the pager as well. crazy cool. next will be to (optionally) show the desktop backgrounds.

The quote is from this post in the blog of Aaron J. Seigo, KDE developer.
