Photoblogging

Book reading

Photoblogging is yet another way to introduce a lot of data flow to the web. As regular text blogging requires minimum language skills, photoblogging requires a camera and basic photography skills. Talant is nice to have, but way too few people actually do. I don’t think that my photography skills are up to the level to maintain a photo blog, but a text editor I can handle.

Meanwhile, I do enjoy ocassional photoblogs, like this one.

Turtle kids at Lara Bay beach

Mini turtle

Anyone, who went through my photo albums or read this blog for some time, knows that I am an often visitor at Lara Bay beach. Today, I didn’t want to go to the beach, though because I had enough of it. We’ve been on the beach every day since my vacations started. Somehow Olga and Hazard convinced me to go…

…and I am glad they did. We’ve witnessed something you don’t get to see so often. Few turtle kids got out of their eggs and went for to the see. Usually, they do it in the middle of the night and noone sees them. But today three of them decided that sunset is good enough time for them to run for life.

Suddenly there were plenty of people with photo- and video-cameras recording the event for the annals of history. I was among them, of course. The results are here.

Witness photography by James Nachtwey

War

James Nachtwey‘s website has a lot of excellent photographs, mostly dedicated to the terrible things witnessed by the photographer – war, crime, hunger, AIDS, etc.

I have been a witness, and these pictures are my testimony. The events I have recorded should never be forgotten and must not be repeated.

I hope those stinky politicians are browsing through sites like this once in a while…
