Just by the title of it, I knew that “Coach Carter” would be one of those films that I like. When I learned that Samuel L. Jackson is playing the leading role, I was 100% sure of it.

And I did like a lot. I don’t know what is it with me and sport movies, but I like most of them. Although they are usually based on the same story of a losing team that starts winning after a good coach comes in. Maybe I just enjoy watching the insight on the training part. Or maybe the I like the balance that all these movies have – if you work hard enough, you can get whereever you want.
Many sport movies touch on the subjects of education, “difficult” kids, and racism. “Coach Carter” is not an exception in this regard. And those are my favourite themes as well. Don’t ask me why though. I don’t know.
Anyway, the movie was pretty good with all the drama and satisfaction that it needed to have. It featured some good basketball, as well as brought attention to some important issues.
Resume: if you like this sorts of films – watch this one. It is one of the best that I came across.
