Here is a nicely done simple graphical respresentation of damage from the recent tsunami in Asia. I don’t know how accurate it is, but looks impressive non-the-less.

Update (9 Jan 2005 20:27): More pictures are here.
I have wrote a script to generate an RSS feed for Cyprus News Agency. It will be regenerated every hour. In case you want any changes to the look and feel of the feed, here is the script source (Perl file).
Update (8 Jan 2005 22:04): For some reason, this feed does not properly work with BlogLines, although it is a vaild RSS version 1 feed. I have raised an issue with BlogLines, but they need 2 business day for reply. Stay tuned.
Update (11 Jan 2005 08:39): I have got an email from BlogLines. Here is a quote:
Thanks for the bug report. We’re investigating it and hope to have it resolved soon.
A bunch of guys who use remotely controlled airplanes for photography combined a bunch of images all made on the same day – January 1st, 2005 – and published the result on the web. The results are here.
I just wish there were more of them and that they would do things like that more often… Very nice.
Watched an old one on DVD today – “Tron“. It is an computer sci-fi fantasy action from 1982. The whole movie is one big non-stop special effect. It also has a weird story and a lot of terminology, some which sounds misplaced though.
It was also the first time I saw young Jeff Bridges, and not only that, but he was running all over the place and doing some crazy things. Compared to all of his other movies that I have seen, that was one hell of an action.
The film is rather slow paced for today’s standards, but it is entertaining non-the-less. The soundtrack with keyboard music and sounds was a bit hard on my ears, but I am sure there are plenty of people who will like it. Very moody.
7 out of 10.
There is an interesting tread on this forum which shows how you can run a legitimate business, or, put simplier, not to be a pirate. There are freeware replacements for anything that you might be using – antivirus software, office programs, PDF management, audio and vidio tools, graphics packages, etc. There are also links to similar resources by other people.
