Today, because of the trip to Akamas, I had a number of photo opportunities. I have selected three pictures to represent today’s entry in the POTD project. Easy. I wonder what I will do when the tourist season will be over. :)

Yet another trip to Akamas we had today with Olga, Hazard, Lev, my brother, and Olga’s two cousins. Traditional visit to Viklari tavern for some pork and red wine, and then some beaching nearby. Since we went a little bit later than usual, we didn’t go to Lara Bay. That saved us about 15 minutes of road trip each way, and added some experience with waves. We also scared away a couple of nudists.
I have made a few pictures. The album is here.
There is an interesting discussion over at Slashdot about tagging digital photos with GPS coordinates. Apparently, I am not the most lazy person in my wishes. I just wanted to have a GPS unit, so that I could save coordinates at places where I make pictures. Real geeks, on the other hand, want a GPS unit to work with digital camera to automatically tag photographs. EXIF, it turns out, has already implemented support for GPS data with all sorts of fields (coordinates, satellites, etc).
In the discussion, I’ve noticed a couple of interesting points. First, it is possible to use timestamps from GPS unit and digital pictures to match for location. Second, many cameras support external GPS units natively. Nikon is said to be especially good at it.
Olga and I just watched “The whole ten yards“. It’s so good that we didn’t pay a penny to see it, because it wasn’t worth one. As much as I like the first movie, this sequel is horrible.
Let me stop for a second on major sucking points. Story sucked. Acting sucked. Most of the soundtrack sucked. Camera work sucked. Special effects sucked. Did I forget anything? Maybe. Just so that I have it for sure – acting sucked. It really turns me down to see people who can act pretty good (Bruce Willis, Matthew Perry, and others) act like they did here. Yuck!
It is also difficult to say what was the intent of the movie. It is clearly not a comedy. Not one joke made me laugh or smile for that matter. Not one. It is for sure not an action, since there is about 15 shots, 1 dead body, and not a single car chase. It is not a love story, not a soap opera, not a thriller. It is nothing.
If it wasn’t for Amanda Peet, I would have broken my habbit and quit watching the film, so boring it was. Amanda was pleasant to look at. She was very natural and lightlooking (don’t know if there is such a word).
Overall, I’ll give this film a rating of weak 2 out of 10. 1.9 out of those 2 go to Amanda. Pity.
Everything for today’s POTD submission was shot from my balcony. There isn’t much, but just enough for me to have a camera in my handds for mere 5 minutes and think once again about all sorts of opportunities, mess with the settings, and not lose any sleep over a hole in the project. Good enough I say.
