On updating wishlists

There are two sides to wishlists. On one hand, they help you keep things remembered. Like my list of movies to see. It does really help when I am in DVD club. But on the other hand, you have to always update these lists when things change. Otherwise, you are increasing your chances of doing something twice. Like me watching “The Missing“. I don’t really mind watching or good movie twice or having beer with friends twice a week or something. But “The Missing” is not my favourite film (although it is pretty good). And that leaves me with an bit empty feeling.

Moral: keep wishlists updated or get rid of them altother.

Pafos Bird Park

Many times, while driving home from Akamas Peninsula (Coral Bay, Lara Bay, etc), we passed by Pafos Bird Park. We never went in though. It seems that the park is worth visiting on its own. There are plenty of birds and animals and everything should be very well organized. There is also a restaurant, a snack bar, daily shows with parrots and owls and much more. All the information is at a nicely done website.

Time to plan a trip.

Reminder of the third Amateur Song Festival

MapI want to remind everyone about the third Amateur Song Festival which will be held coming Saturday in Kakomalis. All the information is available in the forum. This event will be smaller and less professional (amateur indeed) compared to the previous one. There will no stage, sponsor and all the hype. People will start gathering in Kakomalis picnic place around 15:30-16:00. The musical part will start around 19:00.

If you don’t even know which way to look for Kakomalis, then I’ve provided you with the rough map (by the way, the Festival has the logo now). Kakomalis picnic place is very near to Kalo Chorio. The drive from Limassol should take you about 30 minutes.

See you there. :)

“Oxi day” is coming

October 28 is a national holiday both in Greece and Cyprus. It is known as “Oxi day” (or “Ochi day”). If you want to know the story behind the holiday, here is a good article.

I am more concerned about the celebrations that will take place. I suspect there will be a traditional parade in all cities of Cyprus, but I cannot find any information about when and where exactly. I sure that something will be for sure this time, since for two days now I hear the drum practicing sounds from the school nearby my place.

I want to watch and photograph the parade, but I need more information. If you know anything, let me know via the comments.
