Don’t touch

It seems that some people are getting really paranoid. Especially Americans. Apparently, they have came up with a special jacket for women that will use electroshock against anyone who touches it on the outside. It has to be activated and stuff, but still rather scary. Imagine, you see the woman dropping something and you are like “Excuse me, hey lady, listen, eh, you dropped this ***BZZZT***”. Sure I do understand the position this was seen from, but don’t you think it’s just a little bit overreacting? There are lots of situations when you do intentionally or not touch a strange person. Especially that happens a lot in the bigger cities where they have crowds, public transportation and stuff.

There are a couple of QuickTime demonstration videos on the site, in case you’re wondering…

The Bourne Supremacy

Today we watched “The Bourne Supremacy“. It is the second movie in the Bourne series, after “The Bourne Identity“.

I really enjoyed both of these. Identity doesn’t make you feel like there will be more movies. It kind of ends and kind of doesn’t. Supremacy changes this though. It continues the first film without much explanations for those who missed it and ends in the way that you expect another sequel.

As usual, there is plenty of car chases, fights, and special effects. There’s some really cool stuff done in Moscow. The atmosphere of the city has been perfectly delivered to add to the happenings in the film. Spy talk and spy tricks (social engineering) are a nice touch from Identity that continues in here too.

I will go see it in the cinema when it’ll get here. Than, I’ll upgrade my 7 out of 10 to 8 out of 10 vote at IMDB.

Turtle kids at Lara Bay beach

Mini turtle

Anyone, who went through my photo albums or read this blog for some time, knows that I am an often visitor at Lara Bay beach. Today, I didn’t want to go to the beach, though because I had enough of it. We’ve been on the beach every day since my vacations started. Somehow Olga and Hazard convinced me to go…

…and I am glad they did. We’ve witnessed something you don’t get to see so often. Few turtle kids got out of their eggs and went for to the see. Usually, they do it in the middle of the night and noone sees them. But today three of them decided that sunset is good enough time for them to run for life.

Suddenly there were plenty of people with photo- and video-cameras recording the event for the annals of history. I was among them, of course. The results are here.

Brainy quotes

Have you ever met someone who has a rich library of quotations in his or her head? People like this are frequently heard saying phrases like “Benjamin Franklin once said…” or “It was Jim Morrison who wrote…”. Well, these people either have a special kind of memory and read a lot or they spend a lot of time at BrainyQuote.com.

The beauty of the site is that you can quickly find an appropriate quote either by category, by author’s name, or just by a some word that appears in the quote. Now you can look smart too. :)

Meanwhile… Keanu Reeves once said:

I’m a meathead. I can’t help it, man. You’ve got smart people and you’ve got dumb people.
