One of my collegues – Alexander Avanesov – has a birthday today. We went to the mountains for the barbeque to celebrate. Lots of drinking and meat got most of the people so wasted… The biggest impression was a sight of 3 people in Mitsubishi Galant accidentally jumping off the 1.5 meters cliff. Even more surprising was to learn that neither people nor the car received any serious damages. Cool!
Month: March 2003
Happy birthday, Olga!
We went out to Cleopatra Lebanese restaurant for celebrations with a few friends. As usual, we had a really nice time plus lots of food, drinks, nargile smoking, and belly dancing. We ended up with much less people at our place for some beer and poker.
Some pictures are available here.
Hard day at work
What a day!
After a prolonged power failure in the morning, air conditions in the server room failed. Within minutes temperature reached 50C and more in some areas of the room. One can only imagine the temperature on chips. All our IBM servers didn’t like the weather and went to automatic shutdown. Compaqs didn’t shutdown, which makes me wonder if they actually got this feature.
Rest of the day was dedicated to MS Exchange fights… again. A zillion or two of little problems make an overall bad impression.
Wishlist updated
Appended few items to the wish from the The Linux Reading List HOWTO. Hopefully, I will start actually ordering things from next month.
Hylafax
Spent most of the day playing with Hylafax. Nice and powerful. Well documented as well.
