I came across an interesting artist – Andrey Budaev. Â Among other things, he is famous for his rather satirical political posters. Â Check his gallery for more. Â Here is one of my many favorites.

Dear Al, you are fired!
Being fired is usually not much fun. Â But as far as firings go, this one is pretty funny – as reported on Slashdot:
On Friday, more than 1,300 employees of London-based Aviva Investors walked into their offices, strolled over to their desks, booted up their computers and checked their emails, only to learn the shocking news:Â They would be leaving the company. The email ordered them to hand over company property and security passes before leaving the building, and left the staff with one final line: ‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and wish you all the best for the future. ‘This email was sent to Aviva’s worldwide staff of 1,300 people, with bases in the U.S., UK, France, Spain, Sweden, Canada, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Finland and the Netherlands. And it was all one giant mistake: The email was intended for only one individual.
Obviously, in the corporate address book, “All Stuff” and “Al Not-the-Pacino” were right next to each other…
Morse Code for Android
Gmail team celebrated this year’s April Fools day with Gmail Tap.

That, of course, made me smile. Â But it also made me think. Â It’s been a long while since I wanted to learn Morse Code. Â I knew bits and pieces for years, and I could probably transmit my SOS if nobody was shouting in panic. Â But I’ve always wanted to allocate the time and learn not only how to send out the full alphabet, but also get some receiving practice.
A few seconds, I’ve downloaded two Android apps to my phone:
- Morse Code Trainer that I hope will help me learn the alphabet, and
- Morse Code Keyboard that I hopefully will use to get some practice.
All that obviously can’t guarantee that I’ll learn anything at all. But at least I’m trying to get myself started…
Best of “Just for Laughs”
I’ve seen “Just for Laughs” TV comedy program a few times. Â Some of their gigs aren’t that bad, but mostly it’s a bit silly. Â A few days ago though I came across a compilation of their best stuff in a single YouTube video. Â While not all of it is super supreme, a few gigs are nothing short of brilliant. Â I think it’s worth the time.

Thank God Not Everything Is Software
On an average day I’d see a comics like this, smile and walk by. Â But I am currently involved in a project that makes me feel stronger about it.
Consider, for example, a client request I got a couple of days ago:
We are using the database for this project, right? Â We are using it for a reason – to store data. Â If we store data, we should be able to retrieve data. Â So I want a report that retrieves data. Â I want a report with all data, all on a single page. Â But it shouldn’t be too much or too complicated.
Funny? Â Well, I laughed at first too. Â But when I actually managed to build that report, I had a few things to think about. Â And a few to reconsider.
