The web is full of interesting pages about Digital Rebel. Some of them describe the obvious, some teach you how to push your Rebel to the limit and beyond. Below are some of the links that I’ve found interesting and useful. I will be updating this list in the future also.
- Official site. There is a whole plethora of information about the camera, as well as about EF lenses. There are also specifications for all lens accessories, like lens hoods, etc.
- Canon Ditigal Learning Center. Basic lessons mostly, but it’s good to refresh those too sometimes.
- Review of lenses for 300D at Photo.net.
- Interesting review of 300D with a whole bunch of useful comments and sample pictures.
- dcraw – Linux software for processing RAW images from a number of cameras. Including Digital Rebel.
- Canon-300D mailing list at YahooGroups.com. I’ve subscribed to the list and it proves to be very useful. Medium traffic. There is also a frequently updated gallery for members of this group at Pbase.com.
- Big collection of tips and tricks for Digital Rebel is here. Apparently, someone has played around with Rebel’s firmware and found out that it is possible to bring the camera closer to it’s parent – 10D. One of the features, for example, that is possible to add is Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC). Needless to mention that upgrading your firmware with this patches will /dev/null your warranty agreement. There are a couple of threeds at Digital Photo Review that discuss enhancements and problems from this patch. Here is one. And here is another.
