Somebody mentioned to me that I must have a huge face, since it’s not fitting anywhere. Â Examples to the argument were the header image of this site and my avatar, which I use on many web sites. Â To you, sir, I say – you’re wrong. Â The About page of this site features a picture with a full face o’mine. Â Thank you for the smile. :)
Nowadays, you don’t have to have a huge face, the huge face is having you :P
Andrey,
it should have been like this:
Mandatory link to Yakov Smirnoff biography (read the Russian reversal section). :)
Lenia, that was first time I red about you in “About me” – thanks for the link – the face is sooo cute on that picture… :) maybe that person failed to get your profile?
BTW: are you still at a complete halt with our Bc Degree? I thought you’ve got it long ago.
sorry, with YOUR degree?
Lana,
yes, I still haven’t got my Bachelor. :)
this is yet another evidence that the one can succeed without any degree – just some talent and a good place to live.
Lana,
which particular success of mine do you have in mind right now? :)
come on :) all of them of course!
actually, I do believe that nowadays a formal education (incl. degrees) has no direct relation to the one’s personal and professional success.
unless it is an unavoidable requirement in any particular circumstances.
but we can manage the circumstances, can”t we? ;)
Lana,
One example would be nice… because, seriously, I can’t think of any right now.
Indeed. I think formal education was never a requirement for personal and professional success, but these days it’s even more so, due to the powers of the Internet and overall availability and accessibility of information.
Re: One example would be nice… because, seriously, I can’t think of any right now.
OK, your reputation in blogosphere would qualify as an example. your network, your friends’ and associates’ opinion of you… your life perspective which I believe is rather bright…
as for me, all these could define success (along with career, family etc.).
and a (huge) face of course :) – this is a topic’s title I think…
Lana,
I see.. you definition of “success” seems to be along the lines of “not a complete and total failure”. :)
Leonid,
Yeah, mate, I know, but Soviet Russia is kinda collapsed few years ago, so it was a bit weird to use it :)
Andrey,
the humor lives on in the geek crowds :)
Leonid,
just brutforcing your comment with some lyrical words:
…these are the last who stand, and keep the spirit of Soviet Russia in hearts of many others. They call themselves geeks
