The General’s Daughter

Watched “The General’s Daughter” on TV. Very nice movie to see on a Saturday evening. It caught my attention first by having lots of famous actors – John Travolta, James Cromwell, James Woods and few others.

But famous faces was not the best part of the movie. The story was with an interesting twist although not very original. And I felt somehow disturbed by the whole thing. Nice acting and fast pace were also much appreciated.

Sleep record

Today I’ve set my written sleep record – 17 hours straight. I went to bed yesterday at about 6pm. Today I woke up at 11am. I have slept more then this on several ocassions, but I never wrote down the date and the sleep period. Here is the first one. Let’s see if I will be able to beat this some day. :)

More on blogging

Although sites which host blogging communities like Live Journal can help in burning down some time and picking up few interesting ideas, standalong blogs are way more enjoyable and fun. Unfortunately, smart and interesting people are usually busy with other things and don’t update their blogs five times a day. But, boy, is it cool when they do so! :)

A simple trick to enjoy lots of articles in the smart person’s blog is to ignore the site for some time. You just have to be careful not to leave it long enough to forget about it. Today I read a lot of insightful articles at Joel on Software. Alan Cox‘s diary still appears to be in Welsh and I’ve lost that convenient link with someone’s translation. I am not sure the guy could cope up. :) Alan’s wife Telsa though keeps an interesting diary too. And it is in English. Proper English.
