There are plenty of time zone converters on the web, but I haven’t ever seen one as nice as Time Ticker. Don’t bother if clicking if you don’t have Macromedia Flash plugin though.

If you enjoy star watching, then you should get yourself ready for Perseid meteor shower. It is already in progress, but the pick will be on the 12th of August when the density is promised to hit 60-100 meteors an hour. Lev has sent me a few links, so I am passing them all to you: here, here, and here.
If everything goes OK, I will be watching the shower together with Olga, Lev, and Hazard. I will also planning to properly photograph it this time, since I have a better camera, knowledge, and tripod. All I need now is luck. :)

“Causes of Colors” website is an excellent resource about colors and light. I’ll put it into photography section, since photography is the most obvious application for light and because they have a lot of excellent photographs up there. But everyone should look through that site. It is fascinating.
Why are things colored? There are three causes. Repeated over and over, in innumerable variety, they create our colorful world. Light is made in the yellow glow of candle. Light is lost when light filters through stained glass. Light is moved when sky turns crimson sunset.
