Today is one of those scary dates – Friday the 13th. Noone seems to know or remember what is so scary about the combination of Friday, which happens every week, and the date of 13th, which happens every month (and therefor provides for a pretty often match to happen).<\/p>\n

Well, I brushed up my memory and could remember that 13 is considered an unlucky number by some, and Devil’s dozen by another. As to the combination, the closest I got was remembering that there was horror movie in the 80s that was called “Friday the 13th<\/a>“. I couldn’t remember any original or explanational stories.<\/p>\n

Web is, as usual, an answer to any question one might get. “Why Friday the 13th Is Unlucky<\/a>” is a longish article in the “Urban Legends and Folklore<\/a>” section of About.com<\/a>. Another article<\/a> connects Friday 13th to astrology. And, of course, this post would be incomplete without a link to the entry in Wikipedia<\/a>, which has a list of Friday 13th happenings until the year 2020.<\/p>\n
