sr.ht<\/a> – pronounced “sir hat” – is a new competitor in the world of GitHub<\/a>, BitBucket<\/a>, and GitLab<\/a>.\u00a0 Much like all of these, you can either self-hosted it or use a managed service.\u00a0 It might not yet be as fancy, polished, and cool (I think they need a better name and the domain) as its competitors, but there are a couple of reasons that might make a difference when making a choice:<\/p>\n

  1. Open Source.\u00a0 From a quick look, sr.ht is distributed under the GNU Afero GPL<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Modular.\u00a0 The suite consists of the following components:\n

    1. git – git repository hosting service<\/li>\n
    2. build – continuous integration service<\/li>\n
    3. lists – mailing lists service<\/li>\n
    4. todo – ticketing system \/ bug tracker<\/li>\n
    5. dispatch – task dispatcher and integration service<\/li>\n
    6. man – markdown and git-based wiki service<\/li>\n
    7. meta – account management service<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
