We got pictures from all around the world, with people smiling at everything, from cat memes to the Wikipedia article for Nicholas Cage.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes this kind of work is associated with \u201chuman-computer interaction,\u201d but this term makes it sound like we\u2019re interacting with computers, when in fact, most of the time, we\u2019re interacting with each other. I like to think of it as \u201ccomputer-mediated interaction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In mid-May, 2011, I took a\u00a0timelapse\u00a0using my laptop\u2019s webcam to get a feeling for how I looked at the computer. After a few days of recording, I watched the video.<\/p>\n<h2>I was completely stunned.<\/h2>\n<p>There was no expression on my face.
