{"id":16075,"date":"2012-02-03T16:49:45","date_gmt":"2012-02-03T14:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/?p=16075"},"modified":"2012-02-03T16:49:45","modified_gmt":"2012-02-03T14:49:45","slug":"office-poetry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/2012\/02\/03\/office-poetry\/","title":{"rendered":"Office poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start -->\n<p>I&#8217;m about to share some office poetry with you. \u00a0To better understand it, here&#8217;s some context for you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The whole office is non-smoking area. \u00a0Those who need to smoke, have to go on floor up (from where I am), to the balcony.<\/li>\n<li>Most of the important things are discussed on that balcony and not in the meeting rooms, so even non-smoking people frequent it.<\/li>\n<li>On Fridays, it is customary to have a long lunch somewhere out, with a pint or two. \u00a0After which people still come back to the office to finish the day&#8217;s work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now that you know everything you need to know, here is some poetry from the internal instant messenger exchange between me and a colleague of mine. \u00a0These are just from today.<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div id=\"imcontent\"><strong>Leonid Mamchenkov:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>For all week&#8217;s troubles to dismay<br \/>\nWe should have lunch at TGI Friday.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">We&#8217;ll eat and drink and have a cheer<br \/>\nNot to forget a glass of beer.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">It will be cold such as the ice<br \/>\nAnd overall it will be nice.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Mihai Milea:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">Let&#8217;s get ready for a feast<br \/>\nPull some ribbs out, like a beast<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s how hungry now I feel<br \/>\nLet&#8217;s all eat and then we chill<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Leonid Mamchenkov:<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">We are going out for lunch<br \/>\nWith an Easy Forex bunch<br \/>\nWe will eat and drink and laugh<br \/>\nUntil everyone&#8217;s had enough<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">We&#8217;ll come back and work a bit<br \/>\nUntil everyone will quit<br \/>\nCause today is Friday&#8217;s rest<br \/>\nAnd I wish you all the best<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Mihai Milea:<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">Poems, rhymes, that&#8217;s all we do<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">Let&#8217;s go out and get some food!!!!!!!!<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Leonid Mamchenkov:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">If\u00a0we go up, you&#8217;ll have a smoke.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t want to, so I&#8217;ll grab a coke.<br \/>\nBreeth some fresh air, rest the eyes.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s an hour or so until we say goodbye&#8217;s<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">here is a grim one :<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">While we are here, trying to pay the bills,<br \/>\nWhy don&#8217;t we do upstairs something that kills?<br \/>\nThere is no question that I&#8217;m looking to answer.<br \/>\nYou, however, should be careful &#8211; smoking causes cancer.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">Mihai is busy, Sam&#8217;s disappeared.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll go alone &#8211; the air has cleared.<br \/>\nNo more smell, no more smoke.<br \/>\nIt sounds just fine, but something&#8217;s broke.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mihai didn&#8217;t like the last one, complaining about the\u00a0rhymes. \u00a0 I tried to get away with this one then.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div id=\"imcontent\">That was a dunk.<br \/>\nBecause I am drunk.<br \/>\nBut you aren&#8217;t too good,<br \/>\nYou are breaking my mood.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- google_ad_section_end -->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start -->\n<p>I&#8217;m about to share some office poetry with you. \u00a0To better understand it, here&#8217;s some context for you: The whole office is non-smoking area. \u00a0Those who need to smoke, have to go on floor up (from where I am), to the balcony.
