{"id":13540,"date":"2010-11-08T08:56:55","date_gmt":"2010-11-08T06:56:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/?p=13540"},"modified":"2010-11-08T08:56:55","modified_gmt":"2010-11-08T06:56:55","slug":"fxpro-cyprus-rally-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mamchenkov.net\/wordpress\/2010\/11\/08\/fxpro-cyprus-rally-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"FxPro Cyprus Rally 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- google_ad_section_start -->\n<p>This year FxPro Cyprus Rally is not the part of the World Rally Championship (WRC). \u00a0Instead, it&#8217;s a stage of some Intercontinental Rally Championship (IRC). \u00a0Not only that, but also it&#8217;s the last stage of IRC, by which both the winning driver and the winning manufacturer have already been decided. \u00a0Needless to say, there wasn&#8217;t much to see, so I decided to skip the even altogether this year. \u00a0And I almost did.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"660\" height=\"372\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oS17SePRFoM?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday though I went to spend some time with son at Yermasogia dam, which became somewhat traditional for us, before going to Pehnidotopos kids entertainment center. \u00a0While driving to the dam we were passed by a few rally cars, which gave me a suspicion that the rally stage was somewhere up the road. \u00a0That was surprising, because I thought the event finished on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>It turned out the suspicion was right. \u00a0There was some stage of the rally up the road and it had its finish line exactly on the dam itself. \u00a0Left with no choice, Maxim and I went to watch. \u00a0We were late, of course, but still managed to catch a few cars on the asphalt road.<\/p>\n<p>Most Cyprus Rally stages are on gravel and I was wondering how much fun is it to watch the cars driving on asphalt. \u00a0Surfaces with less traction &#8211; gravel, snow and ice &#8211; provide a full range of spectator entertainment. \u00a0Asphalt, of course, is faster, but is it as much fun?
